In 1992, the New York Stock Exchange chose the HARRY software package, on Mainframe, to examine its databases. In their words, it is "a simple product to use, enabling complex analyses".
The strong points that attracted the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) were: the ability to access many databases from a single dictionary, its robustness in processing gigabytes of data on the mainframe. HARRYClient is used to process information from Sybase, Informix and HARRY.
HARRY is in particular used for market surveillance to verify the legality of the transactions and to track insiders.
